Stainless Steel Manifolds
Manifolds are used to support single or multiple vacuum filter holders independently off a single vacuum source. Filtrate from each branch is typically pooled, however individual fractions can be collected when using the Phase Fraction Collector assembly. Hydrolab manifolds are designed for a variety of applications in chemistry and microbiology laboratories. Manufactured from heavy gauge stainless steel, these units carry a low center of gravity so that they will not tip when fully loaded.
Filtration assemblies are mounted on individual branches of the manifold. A standard cup mount accepts a #8/8B stopper. The exterior taper 40/35 male joint couples with a 40/35 female ground glass joint. The PTFE valves maximize chemical resistance. Both 2-way and 3-way valves are available. The 3-way valve should be selected when the manifold is used under closed conditions and must be vented to the atmosphere without breaking the vacuum connection. The valve vent adaptor accepts a male luer slip
Sterility Test Manifolds with standard cups are designed to be used when performing the bacteria retentive method as described by the USP. The set up is operated under closed conditions using Glass or Polysulfone Sterility Test holders. The rear mounted flushing manifold is used to introduce sterile buffer to each individual assembly.
Stainless steel manifolds are autoclavable.
